SAY, San Diego, Inc. is the fiscal agent for the Mid-City Community Advocacy Network (Mid-City CAN) and will be the formal employer of the Community Organizer. This is a 40-hour-a-week position that reports directly to the Mid-City CAN Lead Organizer and is accountable to the Mid-City CAN Collaborative Director and Membership. The Community Organizer will work in partnership with community leaders in City Heights in the design and on-going implementation of campaigns developed by the Mid-City CAN Members. The Community Organizer will support the goal of mobilizing community residents, coordinating leadership development activities, and assisting in identifying and advocating for change.

This is a 40-hour-a-week position that reports directly to the Mid-City CAN Collaborative Director and is accountable to the Mid-City CAN Membership. The Communications Specialist will work in partnership with community leaders in City Heights in the design and on-going implementation of media campaigns and communication’s plans. The Communications Specialist analyzes the audience, develops media campaigns and media opportunities in mainstream and ethnic media channels, manages content on the Mid-City CAN website and social media sites, develops communications strategies for a highly diverse audience in multiple languages, manages graphic design and video, provides media education and training to community members, and other duties as assigned. The Communications Specialist will support the goal of mobilizing community and assist in identifying and advocating for change.
